Teachers Strike in University of Karachi: Evening Classes Suspended

In a recent turn of events, the faculty of the esteemed University of Karachi (KU) has declared a suspension of all evening classes starting from the upcoming Monday. This drastic measure has been taken in response to the unresolved issue of unpaid dues.

The President of the Teachers Association, Shah Ali-ul-Qader, voiced the collective frustration of the faculty during a public address. He highlighted the gravity of the situation, stating that the non-settlement of dues was the primary reason behind the boycott of evening classes.

Furthermore, Shah Ali brought attention to the unpaid levy encashment, terming it as a significant concern. He also pointed out the pending medical bills of the teachers, adding to their financial woes.

Shah Ali urged the Sindh government to consider the predicament of the teachers and address their issues promptly. He emphasized that the educators’ problems should not be overlooked.

In a stern warning to Shaikh-ul-Jamia, the President of the Teachers’ Association demanded immediate action to ensure the payment of all outstanding dues. The faculty awaits a swift resolution to this financial crisis, hoping for a positive response from the authorities.
