Emma Raducanu has been tipped to join up with Andy Murray, who could move into coaching after retiring from tennis.

Murray made his long farewell to tennis this summer after a number of injury-ravaged years, finally calling it a day following his performance at the Paris Olympics.

His 20-year professional career came to an end in the quarter-finals of the Games as he and Dan Evans were beaten by American pair Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul.

But the Scotsman has not completely shut the door on tennis and could return in a coaching role and fellow retired British tennis star Laura Robson has detailed conversations she has had with him about the move.

She also revealed how Raducanu could potentially team up with Murray as her coach.

The 30-year-old told the Metro: “Andy would be a great coach to anyone. I’ve said this to him over the last couple weeks when I have seen him: You would be amazing!

“He’s got such an analytical mind. He loves the technique and the tactics and all the minor details you can do in tennis to improve by one per cent.

“He’d be great at working with anyone. I know he has been helping some of the junior guys.

“He invited them to some practice sessions and he had some time in Greece with them before the Olympics. I think in a way he would prefer a junior, because then it’s a fresh challenge.

“He loves the sport so much. He would be a huge advantage in anyone’s player box.

“But at the end of the day I think a lot of the players in a similar situation would have done the same thing, prioritising their body.”

Meanwhile, Murray has already spoken about potentially becoming a coach after his playing days were over.

The two-time Wimbledon winner said: “It might be something I want to do in the future.

“I went along to watch one of the young Scottish kids in pre-qualifying at Wimbledon and I really enjoyed that.

“That’s something I could see myself doing. But I don’t want to travel just now. So that would be something for further down the line.”
