Cambridge International Education (CIE) has canceled the leaked AS-Level Mathematics paper and announced that students won’t be graded on it. In their statement, CIE explained that students’ marks will be based on their performance in the second AS-Level Mathematics paper and other exams. This decision comes after the Mathematics paper was leaked on May 2 and widely shared on social media, especially Facebook.

The leak caused significant stress among students, raising fears about the exam’s cancellation and its impact on their overall grades. Initially, CIE responded to these concerns by stating they were investigating the potential leak of the AS Level Mathematics 9709 Paper 12. Cambridge and the British Council were in close communication during this investigation.

CIE’s action aims to maintain fairness and integrity in the exam process. According to the official report from Cambridge International Education UK, the leak occurred in Pakistan and was reported by students before the exam. The report emphasized that CIE’s decision not to grade the leaked paper ensures that all students are assessed fairly based on their performance in the remaining exams.

To support affected students, Cambridge has also announced that those who wish to retake the exam can do so in November without paying any re-examination fees.
